1st Burford Scout Group is open to young people from all backgrounds aged 6-18

Beavers from 6-8 are our youngest members. They enjoy all that Scouting has to offer; being introduced to outdoor activities, having the opportunity to be creative, explore their local community and experience the excitement of a Beaver Scout sleepover with their friends. The Colony currently meet at our Scout Hut every Wednesday at 6pm-7:15pm
For Cubs at 8-10 ½, excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities. Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities, as well as camps and residential experiences. Our Cub Pack meets Monday evening from 6pm-7:30pm
Scouts are 10½ – 14 and aim to build and develop young people’s confidence, sense of adventure and outdoor skills, as well as encouraging them to explore their beliefs and attitudes and be creative. It offers them the independence to put these skills into practice at camps and even on international trips. Our Scout Troop meet every Thursday from 6pm-8pm.
Explorers are 14-18 and are encouraged to take control of their scouting by planning their own programme. There are fantastic opportunities to take part in large events both at home and abroad and achieve the highest participant awards in Scouting.
Burford – Challenger ESU is part of West Oxon District Scouts and meet at our Hut on Tuesdays.
